The Meaning of U'ilani

U’ilani is a Hawaiian name that beautifully combines U’i, meaning “beauty,” and lani, meaning “heavenly” or “sky.” Together, it translates to “heavenly beauty” or “beautiful sky.”

At U’ilani, our essential oil blends are crafted to bring harmony, serenity, and well-being—just like the name itself. Rooted in nature’s purest elements, our oils elevate the senses and nurture the body, offering a touch of heavenly beauty in every drop.

U'ilani's Essential Oil Blends

Our supply of grade A exceptional energetic quality essential oils come from a specialist essential oil company who do their best to ensure that each product contains the intelligence and healing power of the plant in its purest form. This means over 70% of them are either certified organic, or from wild growing plants, sustainably grown.  They are sourced direct from the grower or grower’s cooperative, guaranteed pure and unadulterated. Adulteration occurs when companies dilute or alter a pure essential oil by adding synthetic ingredients or fillers to extend volume, compromising its quality and effectiveness.  They are distilled under low pressure and low temperature over a longer period of time, which gives a lower yield, but an infinitely higher quality oil.  The oils are bottled without coming into contact with high energy electromagnetic fields, because this disturbs their subtle energy and they even play music to them all night!  Everything is done to ensure that they reach us in their optimal therapeutic condition.  In all, there are 509 different oils.  Every time we place an order over the value of £50, they plant a tree in Scotland to also help the planet.

We believe in the power of nature to support well-being, which is why our blends are crafted with high-quality botanical extracts that align with your personal needs and preferences. Whether you’re seeking a calming aroma, an uplifting scent, or a blend to complement your self-care routine, U’ilani provides a personalised approach to essential oils.

All blends are made with intention, care, and respect for the natural world—helping you reconnect with yourself through the beauty of botanicals.

Facts – Did You Know?

Our emotions can influence both our physical well-being and the events that unfold in our lives. The way we feel can shape our thoughts, and when we resist or suppress these emotions, they may manifest physically. Thoughts are often considered to carry frequencies, and these frequencies can range from high to low.

Aromatherapy oils are believed to carry frequencies that range from 52 to 320 MHz. The healthy human body is thought to run at a frequency between 62-70 MHz. When the body’s frequency drops below 62 MHz, it may be more susceptible to illness, such as a cold or flu. Essential oils are also known for their antioxidant properties and are believed to support the body’s natural processes, potentially helping to restore balance. Higher-frequency oils are often associated with emotional and spiritual support, while lower-frequency oils are thought to have a more grounding effect on the physical body.

What Are Affirmations?

During the Covid lockdown, Dawn discovered the teachings of Louise Hay, an American motivational speaker and bestselling author of You Can Heal Your Life. Louise Hay, also the founder of Hay House Inc., inspired Dawn to start incorporating positive affirmations into her daily routine, helping her create thoughts of positivity and healing in various areas of her life.

By changing our thinking process, we have the ability to transform our lives. Mental health is not just about addressing issues when we feel unwell or unhappy, but about maintaining a continuous practice of self-love and care. Good health and well-being come from a foundation of love, appreciation, and kindness toward ourselves and our bodies.

Our emotions and thoughts are closely interconnected. When we resist or suppress our emotions, it can sometimes manifest physically. The way we think and speak about ourselves, others, and life is a form of affirmation—either positive or negative. Positive affirmations can encourage positive experiences, while negative affirmations may lead to negative outcomes.

To shift from a negative mindset, it’s important to create new patterns of thought. By focusing on affirming the good we wish to bring into our lives, we can begin to attract more of that positivity.

When you book a personal consultation with Dawn, she will work with you to develop affirmations that support your growth, well-being, and positive mindset.

The Origins of Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years across many cultures, incorporating plant-derived essential oils for rituals, wellness, and natural self-care. The tradition of using aromatic plants dates back to ancient civilisations such as Egypt, China, India, Greece, and Rome.

  • Ancient Egypt (3,000 BCE): Egyptians used essential oils in spiritual ceremonies, cosmetics, and embalming. Frankincense and myrrh were considered valuable and often used in temple rituals.
  • Traditional Chinese & Ayurvedic Practices: Both systems have long embraced aromatic plants and extracts as part of their holistic wellness traditions.
  • Greek & Roman Influence: Greek physician Hippocrates advocated for aromatic baths and massages, while Romans widely incorporated essential oils into daily life.
  • European Apothecaries & Renaissance Era: Herbalists and perfumers refined distillation techniques, preserving botanical knowledge for self-care and well-being.
  • Modern Developments: The term “aromatherapy” was introduced in the 20th century by chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé, who studied plant extracts. Over time, essential oils became widely used in wellness routines, personal care, and holistic practices.

At U’ilani, we honour this rich history by offering high-quality, organic, and wild-crafted essential oil blends, tailored to enhance your daily self-care rituals.
